Guidelines
We are all in different stages of learning and unlearning. We set forward these guidelines not as a way to restrict, but as a way to create a space where we can be respectful of each other’s growth.
Before joining, please take a moment to read through these principles, and make sure that they feel aligned with how you want to show up in community before signing up to the circle:
• We practice loving corrections. We hold each other with care, curiosity, and accountability, not shame. (Credit to Adrienne Maree Brown for this language and practice.)
• We are actively anti-racist. Racism, colorism, and harmful stereotypes are not tolerated.
• We center and celebrate the perspectives of women of color. Their lived experiences, wisdom, and leadership are honored here.
• We reject hustle and grind culture. Rest, humanity, and sustainability matter more than productivity.
• Spanglish is welcome and encouraged. You are invited to express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you.
• We move with care around cultures that are not our own. This includes respect for traditions, practices, and boundaries.
• We share space. We practice listening, self-reflection, and awareness of how much space we take up.
• We use accessible language. We aim to speak plainly and keep jargon to a minimum so everyone can participate fully.
• We are affirming of LGBTQ+ identities and lives. This is a queer-inclusive space.
These agreements help protect the integrity of the circle and the people within it. If these guidelines are not honored, participation may be ended .
